About us
  • The Marine Corps League is a congressionally chartered organization for veterans who have honorably served as a United States Marine or FMF Corpsman and is open to all of those active, reserve, or honorably discharged. Our mission is one of service to the United States of America, the United States Marine Corps, and our community. We continue to build a strong infrastructure for keeping Marines connected to each other while promoting and upholding the traditions of the Corps. Presently, our work includes networking with local Marines, mentoring community youth through the local Young Marines program, providing college scholarship aid to the children of our members, and conducting Christmas toy drives. If you are a Marine or just want to join, we ask you to join us!

Mission Statement
  • Carroll County Marine Corps League Detachment 896 of the Marine Corps League will strive to be a haven of comradeship to all US Marines located in rural Carroll County, Maryland and its surrounding areas.

  • The Detachment will provide a common heritage, mutual support, sincere counsel and genuine guidance by establishing lines of communication and social interaction and by embodying the "Esprit de Corps" spirit.

  • Detachment 896 will actively identify and offer membership to all eligible US Marines and continue to welcome and include Associate Membership in a continuous, motivated unit. The Detachment will strive to incubate a transgenerational culture by mentoring the Carroll County Young Marines and by encouraging the relevance of elder Marine participation.
