Carroll County Young Marines

Carroll County Young Marines: 20171004

After 3 months of hard work by both recruits and Young Marine Drill Instructors we were able on Monday,

2 October 2017 to proudly add 5 new Young Marines to the ranks of the Carroll County unit. One of those

being the detachment Commandant’s second son, Matthew Turner. As with every recruit class, we chose one

special recruit to be the “Honor Graduate”. This time it went to Roland Knight. With this honor came the

Honor Graduate ribbon with “R” device. And a meritorious promotion to Young Marine/PFC.

Congratulations to him!

At said graduation ceremony we as a unit also awarded the unit Young Marine of the Year. For the year

of 2017-2018, it is Young Marine/Sgt Dominic Garrison.

Congratulations to him! His next step is to go before the Young Marine MD Regiment 1st Battalion YMOY Board. GOOD LUCK!!

We also promoted to YM/Cpl Christopher Fry. Forever the “Terminal Lance”, it was a long time coming

and very well deserved.

Semper Fidelis!
