Owen W. Schultz is studying to receive his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Systems Management (IFSM) with a minor in Computer Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) (Formerly, University of Maryland University College (UMUC)). Owen retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2012 after 20 years of honorable service as a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) Analyst / Chief (2621 / 29 / 91). He served from 1992 – 2012. He was stationed at:

Owen's personal service decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM), Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), Joint Service Commendation Medal (x 2) (JSCM), Joint Service Achievement Medal (x 2) (JSAM) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (NAM). He is married to the former Gina Koppen (U.S. Air Force Veteran) and has two daughters, Megan and Lauren.

Duties of the Web Sergeant:

The Web Sergeant is responsible for 'electronic presence' of a detachment on the web or internet. This includes maintaining the detachment web site, Facebook page or other electronic detachment material. They are also responsible for recommending revisions and ensuring those items approved by the Board of Trustees and detachment officers are implemented.
